Episode 65 - Join Dave and Steve in the Dark Shadows

 

Again, not a strong title on my part.

One of the things I like about this show is how its characters can be doing the right thing one scene, and then not the right thing in the next scene they are in.

Poor Betty is counting calories.

Poor Sally is being used as a pawn.

Sally is also, despite her attempted grown uppedness, still a kid.  As an aside, I absolutely hate when kids act like they think adults act.

Ginzo is great in this one.

Don, I'm pretty sure you think about Michael almost daily.

Roger really ought to stop carrying so much cash around.

Episode 64 - Dave and Steve Wish Lazarus Was a Lady

Don listening to Tomorrow Never Knows

As I sometimes point out, the clever title thing (which isn't going away even if you don't think it's clever, who the hell are you and what did you pay for the podcast?) can be difficult.  This was one of those.

Damn I love season 5.

This one could have been entitled 'Don doesn't get it at all'.  It could also have been entitled 'PIZZA HAUS!!!'

Megan wants to be an actress.

Ginzo swears in a meeting.

Roger is funny, yet he has grown.

Don seems vaguely grown up.

Pete has a fling.

Howard is horrible.

Beth is depressed.

I hate Howard.

Revolver is truly one of the best albums ever recorded.  That said, Don really REALLY doesn't get it.  Has he really grown?

Also, remember, I hate Howard.

Episode 63 - Steve and Dave Attend the Codfish Ball

 I've been saying this a lot this season, but this is one of my favourite episodes.

I really don't like Raymond from Heinz.

Megan and Don pitching to Raymond is great.

Peggy's mother is pretty awful.

Megan's parents represent Quebec nicely.

That said, her mother can't speak French really....

How was the city?  Dirty.

Episode 62 - Dave and Steve Go to Some Far Away Places

Happy New Year!

Damn this is a great bit of TV.

It's non linear storytelling in the style of Max Ophuls.

It's Roger and Jane dropping acid.

It's Don and Megan going to Howard Johnson's.

It's some super moving backstory about Ginzo.

It's Peggy finding out that she can't be Don.

It's Bert telling Don to shape up.

It's just generally amazing.
